Creating an Account and Organization

At Storyboard, we believe it should be easy to get started with audio. In just a few clicks, you’ll be on your way to creating amazing content for your team. This starts with making an account and organization to post to. After successfully completing the following steps, visit our Creator Center for tips, tricks, and content creation best practices.

Creating a new account

Creating your account is the first step to unlocking all of Storyboard’s features.

Create a Storyboard account on our website

  1. Visit our website
  2. Click on Try For Free in the upper right corner of your screen
  3. Enter the email address where you would like to receive your Storyboard invitation and click on Next
  4. Enter and re-enter the password you would like to use to sign in and click on Next
  5. Enter your first and last name and click on Try for Free
  6. A confirmation email will be sent to you
    Check for an email being sent from invites@trystoryboard.com
  7. Click on Confirm your account in your confirmation email
    You’ll be taken to a Storyboard page to create your organization

Create a Storyboard account on our mobile application

  1. Download the Storyboard application: iOS or Android
  2. After opening the application, click on New User
  3. Enter the email address where you would like to receive your Storyboard invitation and click on Next
  4. Click on Register As Admin
  5. You will be redirected to our sign-up page on our mobile website
  6. Enter the email address where you would like to receive your Storyboard invitation and click on Next
  7. Enter and re-enter the password you would like to use to sign in and click on Next
  8. Enter your first and last name and click on Try for Free
  9. A confirmation email will be sent to you
    Check for an email being sent from invites@trystoryboard.com
  10. From the email, click on Confirm your account
    You’ll be taken to a Storyboard page to create your organization

FAQ: What happens if I don’t see an invitation email in my inbox?

Email filtering systems may see this as a promotional email. Check your spam folder to see if the email has ended up there. 

If you still aren’t receiving your invitation email, please reach out to our support team for help.

FAQ: I was looking for my organization’s podcasts, but created a new account instead. What do I do?

If you entered your email address and were prompted to create a new account, this means that there is no Storyboard profile associated with your email. Here’s what to do if this happens:

  1. If you’re signing in with a personal email account, try checking your work or school email to see if an invite was sent there. You will need to sign in with the invited email address.
  2. If you are not seeing an invitation in any of your email accounts, you have yet to be invited to Storyboard. Please reach out to Storyboard support and let us know which organization’s podcast you would like access to.

FAQ: If I have multiple email addresses, does it matter which one I sign up with?

If you are creating a Storyboard account for work or school, we recommend signing up with the email corresponding to that organization, such as matt@zyxcorp.com. 

If you’re planning on using Storyboard for non-work or school reasons, feel free to use whichever email you’d like.

FAQ: What should I do if I want to sign up for a Pro Basic account on Storyboard?

Pro basic includes advanced features such as analytics, episode promotion tools, and audience segmentation. If you’re interested in Storyboard Pro, visit our pricing page to learn more.

Creating an organization

Once you’ve created an account, you’re ready to set up your organization. This includes the name and logo that will appear front and center for you and your listeners.

To create an organization:

  1. After clicking on Confirm your account from your email, you will be redirected to an Organization info page.
  2. Enter a name for your organization.
    - This can be anything from the name of your company, to the name of your team, or any name you want your organization to have
  3. Upload a 250 x 250 pixel image for your organization’s logo.
    - As a reference, this is the size of a Linkedin or Twitter avatar
  4. When done, click on Save.
  5. You will be taken to your podcast dashboard to start uploading content and inviting users.

FAQ: How do I go back and change the name and/or logo of my organization?

Organization names and logos can be changed at any time from your podcast dashboard:

  1. Click on the Organization tab
  2. Click on Edit Info
  3. From this screen, you will be able to update your organization’s name and logo

FAQ: Can I change my organization’s name and/or logo on the Storyboard mobile application?

At this time, the only way to change the name or logo of your organization is to do so from your podcast dashboard on Storyboard’s website. If you are on a mobile device, this feature can be accessed via the mobile web.
